Email Rights

by thegaminggoose on Jul.12, 2009, under Blog

I understand that companies cannot allow people to really email and blog all day, but I find the fact that companies will search your Facebook and MySpace for information about you intrusive enough. This goes over the line. They were reading his Yahoo email account even after they fired him. (Scott Sidell)

I would love to know what my young audience thinks of this. Trust me, it will not be long before they are allowed to tap into your texts and surfing habits on your phones.

Jackson’s Death

by thegaminggoose on Jun.30, 2009, under Blog

I have to be one of the few who is underwhelmed by Michael Jackson’s death. I love how people are coming out to pretend he hasn’t been a punchline to a kid touching joke for the last decade. I be he would have liked to see all of these tributes when he was alive. Good job people.

Duke Nukem Forgotten

by thegaminggoose on May.10, 2009, under Blog

It’s time for me to not give a shit and chew bubblegum, and I’m all out of bubblegum.

3D Realms has confirmed that they are being shut down. Take-Two interactive, the company that is with Rockstar and 2K, who was funding the project, has shut it down. I know there were many people who were supposedly waiting for this game, but I honestly and truly could not care at this point. It is not like Duke Nukem is going to be missed in this next generation.

There are enough FPS shooters in the market. One more is not going to make a difference.

And by the way, did we learn anything about the game  from that trailer Anyway? No.

My Favorite Things

by thegaminggoose on Mar.12, 2009, under Blog

Some find it funny to find out that my favorite thing in the world is not video games.  It’s not even anything that has to do with  pop culture. This sometimes shocks some people who contact me and who I have the time to reply to (Please note that like many people I do get a lot of emails and I cannot always reply to them all; however, be assured that I most certainly read them.)  People seem shocked when I say that  there is more to life than gaming. But there is – a lot more.

My favorite thing in the world is knowledge – learning. I know it sounds corny, pretentious, and a bit academic, but that is really what I love.

Now, I am by no means a “smarty pants,” but I do enjoy learning and stretching myself beyond what I think my current levels and abilities are. Sure, sometimes I fail forward, but that is how life is. If something feels scary to do (at least psychologically) then it is probably the right choice.
