A rubric causes a reviewer to break down invididual components of a game and decide where a game falls on a scale of that component.  Some games do well in one aspect, but fail miserably in another.

I think this is far more accurate and less subjective (no, not entirely objective – I said less) than giving an arbitrary score based on a scale that does not mean anything. What does a 3 or a “Buy it now” actually mean in comparison to a 4 or “rent it.” So, it is good enough to play in your eyes but not good enough to own . . . based on what criteria?

So, here is my rubric. Keep in mind I am not finished with this as creating a rubric takes a lot of forethought, decision making, and time.

I have a few updates I need to go over fairly quickly.

One, the point give away contest is ending in one week. I will choose the winner then and announce on TheGamingGooseTwo.

Two, the first video review that I have been saying I am going to do for that channel should be out tonight . . .baring any mishaps. Tonight or tomorrow. Close enough. It is my channel, FU. I can do what I want!

Three, I am working on Nerd Vice.com in between regular life and The Gaming Goose content. (ha!) The site is adding new writers and content producers; we are always looking for people who want to jump into creation. Nerd Vice  does not have a stand out popular, “anchor” person at this time. Maybe someone will jump out of the pack someday or maybe some crazy popular person will want to join.

Having said that, your content will not get lost or dwarfed by a big name and your content will not get bumped from the front page because someone is more popular. Our site does not work that way.

If you know someone who has great content, then point him or her out to myself or Vira Gunn!

Let’s call it Asshole 2.0.

I am not certain why it took me so long to write about this. I get a lot of complaints about how this person or that person who grows to some level of Internet fame is an arrogant asshole or stuck up twat. I never really give a good answer for this other than I really do not know the person to say whether or not this is true. 

But I have come to a realization – it probably is true.  If one or two people  are calling you arrogant and egotistical, then maybe it are those people in particular. If twenty or thirty people are consistently calling you that, then it is probably you.

The problem with social media and online websites like You Tube and Twitter is that the people that inhabit them are generally not the most socially successful people in the word. They are shy, awkward, and not always outgoing. They have self-esteem issues, problems with the opposite sex, and generally feel overly neglected by their cohorts in the “real” world.

When one of these people gets big enough micro-fame, the sense of power over others becomes apparent. Many people change as their popularity grows. This number differs for everyone. For some people, the number is so high that they would have to become the next Michael Jackson in 1982 for it to affect them.  For others, a few thousand fucktwits on the internet kissing their ass sends them into their tiny power trip.

You out of shape, ugly, mother fuckers who have the personality of a carrot think they have the IQ of Kim Ung-Yong, because they read some Nietzsche and took a class on Astronomy and had someone else explain quantum theory TO them.  They feel small in groups of people, have been ignored most of their lives, and loose their shit when a few people RT or comment how much “they rule OMG!!!111.”  These same people who have the balls swinging low to be an asshole online rarely have that same nerve to be an asshole in person.

It shocks me that these people wonder why they get a lot of hate. Unless, of course, it is intentional on their part and they want the hate just to stir up some shit. This is actually worse in my mind, but whatever.

It is either that, or assholes are just really popular people and I never realized it. I am going say it it the former because the great people I meet in person are rarely assholes.
